  1. I don think Ruoxi care too much for everyone is wrong. In her position, all is her best buddies from young and 8 is the guy she love and 8 have done so much for her, 10, 13, 14 also did so much for her. Given all this, Can she not Care for everyone?
If u all was to be in this situation and knowing wat will happen to them, i think sure will also do something to stop it from happening.
She once love 8 n couldnt be with him all because he is not willing to give up fighting,  no matter what in her heart there is still care. 4 was nice to her, he wasn’t wrong to protect her but he did things too extreme that make her feel suffocated.
She is a “modern” person that go back to the past suddenly. We were brought up knowing that Man should just have 1 woman, how can expect that its normal to have so many woman sharing ur man?
if in today world, ur man fall for another woman, i believe alot of ppl will nv say its ok already.

  4. Well, the whole problem is that Ruoxi cannot change history regardless of what she knows. If she could change history then that would alter everything afterwards and possibly make everything worse. Even if the 8th prince became the king or the 14th, there`s no guarantee that they would have been good and righteous kings. Like the 13th prince says, everything changes after a person becomes the king.

  5. 宫锁心玉  is definitely different from this story.. the storyline of her coming over to this time era is different that Bu Bu Jing Xin.. but both are equally great shows.. ^___^

  6. Yup. I also don’t understand why RX couldn’t steer events to minimize, well, at least her pain. She’s supposed to be the luckiest girl in the world:

She survived the freak accident she had in her modern time, other people could’ve been crippled or disabled by that kind of accident, yet her body & mind remained intact.
When she travelled time to the past, she turned out to be a gege, much better than just a poor commoner or worse – a convict or slave.
With her knowledge of history & modern education that none else had, she could outsmart the others. She’s lucky to have a caring sister & could befriend many of the princes.
Yet with all this lucks, her life’s still full of doom & gloom. Many steps she’d taken, she chose them herself & given her knowledge, she should’ve known the consequences.
Happiness is not a gift nor fated, it’s a state of mind. I dont want to be mean, but I think RX kept focusing of what she wanted to see/have but couldn’t, and thus she ‘chose’ to be unhappy…
So, don’t keep focusing of what we lack of & forget to count our blessings 🙂 Nice story tho, kudos to the writer 🙂

    • I believe she tried to minimize things by telling 8th prince to be aware of 4th at that time, and look what happened. After that, everything is out of her hand.  She’s not God, and she’s not psychic.  She can only know what was written in history.  She tried everything she can to change this course of tragedy first by asking 8th to give up the throne.  If 8th had given up the throne, I don’t think that he would suffer like he did in the end. He might of have a peaceful life with his wives, including RX. He wasn’t wrong to pick ambition because he doesn’t know the future.  At that time, 4th didn’t hate 8th, and he wasn’t in love with RX yet, just merely interested. RX wasn’t being miserable because of herself.  You are right that she was very lucky in the way that all the princes loved her one way or another (except 9th), and was very good to her. But because of those bonds and friendships, it was torture to see them being destroyed like that by the man she loved.  I think if she was selfish and just only concerned about hers and 4th’s relationship and ignored everyone else, yeah, I think she can be content.  But that’s not possible.  Those other men are her friends who she had spent many meaningful years with, and was there for her all the times. It’s not possible to ignore her conscience.  So as long as she has a conscience and 4th are still torturing, it’s impossible to be happy. I think if she can trade off, I think she would trade everything she has for these men to be safe.

      • What I meant is: with her knowledge of what would happen, she chose to get involved in the very beginning. She chose to have a relationship with the 8th prince. For me, love or not, it’s a huge mistake, because once we make a mistake, we have to clean it up, and the bigger the mistake, the harder it is to get out.
Imagine you met this great guy, but you KNEW he’s a drug dealer. You fell in love to him, but would you take it to the next level to have a relationship with him? You knew what the ending could be.Yet, you chose to be with him. Then you introduced him to your friends & families. Then he started introducing drugs to all of them. All miserable. Whether or not you would turn a blind eye of what he’s doing, unless you also shared the same passion to whatever he’s doing, then you wouldn’t be happy.
She chose to be with the 8th (big mistake), then with the 4th (even bigger mistake), considered what she warned 8th about 4th. She tangled herself in such a complicated life, no wonder she came out of the hole black & blue.
If RX hadn’t had any knowledge of what their future held, I’d have spared her 🙂

        • but can you imagine yourself in her position? how can you not care for a guy thats been there for u for many many years. she ended up falling for 8th and wanted to change history with him by telling him to give up the throne. she thought that with the love 8th has for her, he willing be willing to give up the power. but she was wrong, so the best thing she can do .. was to warn him..

      • the 8th wife said to Rouxi that the whole reason why things are happening was because she told the 8th prince to be aware of nian gen yao and long ke duo ( that was when Rouxi & 8th prince were still together) If she didn’t warn the 8th prince, then the 8th prince wouldn’t have been able to set a trap for the 4th prince. After hearing those words, Rouxi was shocked, she felt like she was the one that should be blamed for making the 13th prince get lock up for 10 years and all the conflicts that are going on.

    • Well, what the 8th wife did, logically made sense to me. Imagine you in her place – devoted 100% to your husband, yet you saw your husband went astray because he was being advised by another woman. That woman used to love your husband, and now you know that woman had changed side as she fell in love to the ‘enemy’. And you had seen your husband was quite in deep shit now thanks to her advice. Would you be afraid that woman would now give advice to the enemy against your husband?

I admire the 8th wife still, for after all the catastrophe, she still stood by his side.

      • 不该说女人不该管男人的事。男人不见得会比女人更会妥当的处理事情。大家各凭本领!
